Y&R Character/Real-Life Families

Thanks to Chris posting the videos of Y&R, I made a discovery that I had not noticed until now.  I am not sure if anyone knew this, but Heather Tom(the old Victoria on Y&R) who is currently playing Katie on B&B played opposite of her actual brother David Tom.  Her brother played Billy Abbott on the Y&R.  The brother and sister are no longer on The Young and the Restless, but their characters are still featured.  Actually, the characters that they played are now married to each other.  It is interesting that the storyline moved in this direction.  I wonder if the writers had any idea that they would have the two characters wed.  Obviously they would not have if neither of the Tom siblings had left the show.
