Thinking Transnationally 2

Posted by nasir502nasir on April 26, 2017

Transnational is still a term I had never heard of before reading about it for this class. The way it is described makes a lot of sense and also surprises me that I have never even heard the term before seeing that it has a lot to do with how we spread media and content these days. Thinking from a transnational standpoint I would say this is a very important and interesting subject. The effects, purposes and causes of transnational thinking and how people spread their media comes from a lot of different assets of life, different places in the world, and for different reasons. Some people are spreading their media and ideas for profit while others aren’t. Some are doing this to keep in contact with people or cultures. Some people participate to expand their horizons and venture out to seek other cultures or people from other places around the globe. My favorite example was about the memes. The fact that other countries meme just about everything just as much as the United States does just goes to show that even though cultures can be very different they can also be very similar in many ways, as well. Which is why some people use this way of life to expand their audiences not only nationwide but worldwide. Sometimes it works, sometimes it has little effect to it. But I guess its the thought that counts sometimes, right?
