Transnational media

This reading really opened my eyes to how far our world has come technologically.  I really didn’t know what to think when I saw the title of this reading but I sure am glad I read into it.  I can’t emphasize it enough when I say that transnational media has become extremely important in today’s world when it comes to media spreadability.  It used to be news was spread by word of mouth and took so long to travel that more news would be out by the time the old news reached the community.  It took an exceptionally long time to have media travel to another state much less another country.  Yeah national television such as CNN and FOX News do a great job covering within the United States, but they also cover what’s going on elsewhere in the world in real time.  This is incredible because the more aware we are of what’s going on around the world the better off we will be.  YouTube has been a major player in spreading media nationally and internationally.  Anyone in the world can get on the internet and see my blog post or tweet if they really wanted to.  I really like how someone had mentioned the “Gangnam Style” music video.  That video took off from a South Korean singer all over the world.  Without YouTube, we would have never been exposed to this song along with the other 2.8 billion others.  Media is very powerful, and if used the correct way is very beneficial to everyone.
