Who run the entertainment business??…. Us.

Posted by laurenivey22 on February 6, 2017

In the Implicit Contract blog, it states how we, the audience overall decide whether or not a production is successful. For example, when he audience is really displeased with an entertainment and they feel that they have wasted their time, results in bad reviews and cancellations. Have you ever been watching a tv series that you really like but not enough people are watching it or are giving bad reviews on it, so they cancel it and stop making new seasons? Its because we control the entertainment business and what we like and respond to thrives, while the things we do not like or respond to, crash and burn.
In order for companies to get their entertainment out there and become known, they must advertise. The advertising ads are made to inform the audience of what they should expect and to persuade them to watch their entertainment. Ads are all good and fun in order to get the audience intrigued and willing to watch, but with advertising, there are disadvantages. One of those being that in many tv shows and movies, commercials or trailers are shown in order to get the audience intrigued. If the entertainment that that ad is promoting doesn’t live up to its expectations, then the audience will  be disappointed and write bad reviews.

In conclusion, the audience is in charge of the entertainment business, and this reading helped me to realize just how much we have an impact on what our entertainment contains and doesn’t contain.

I just wanted to say I really love the title to your post based solely on the fact that when I read it I sang it as the Beyoncé song.
